David and I have been writing together for over 25 years. It started after an accident (pregnancy!) and continued because of necessity. Writing isn't a easy way to make a living and suddenly having to support a child we realized we had to become a little more efficient about our careers. We thought two pens joined would be more powerful and, hopefully, more profitable than each of us writing solo.
The first piece we worked on together was about game and specialty foods. I was still woozy post-birth and after editing David's article on alligator and other wild delicacies, my appetite was never quite the same. Just a few months ago we were invited to the house of friends in Florida for dinner and the specialty of the house was venison lasagna. After just one bite the wave of recall swept through my inner regions. I focussed on the salad.
Since those early days we have written ten books, a screenplay (Net Worth -- about the 1950s attempt by the Detroit Red Wings and Toronto Maple Leafs to form a players' association) and we've collaborated on a television series (Maxed Out -- a financial lifestyle show), a documentary (The Wild Horse Redemption) and a whole lot of other stuff that would fill a phone book. Our writing life has never, ever been dull.
We have two exceptional daughters, Claudia and Quinn, a terrific son-in-law and a dynamo of a grandson, two-year old Jack. We are so fortunate to live close to all of them as they grow and change.
Our next project is another book and hopefully a screenplay about Wild Horse Annie.
